Heading off to Portland, Maine, viâ Boston, Massachusetts.. and I thought it would be a super duper idea to travel on the 2:40 a.m. Amtrak train. And then I remembered that it's 2020 and everything is all sorts of weird. The good (?) news is that there's transit cops and other Amtrak employees only letting ticketed passengers in the Amtrak area, so we're not inundated with homeless people; and there's food places open, while everywhere else has been told to shut by 10 p.m. That's right, folks, I get my sandwich at 1 a.m., but I'm not hungry at the moment. The bad (?) news is I had to show my ticket to enter the area, enter the waiting room (which is normal), and to even gain access to the loo. This is obviously what the night service is like. I've no idea if this is how it always is, but I'm this is the dystopia that is definitely motivating me to get out of here. 3 months and 4 days...
